Smith Coffee & Café: the historic Smith Douglas More House

They said I could be anything, so I decided to be caffeinated!

Smith Coffee & Café

Eden Prairie, MN

Our visit: September 3, 2024

Inside the historic Smith Douglas More House in Eden Prairie we found the airy and bright Smith Coffee & Café. (And learned that even in Eden Prairie, which seems like one of the newest suburbs of the Twin Cities, one can find a historic house which dates to 1871!)

Smith has a full menu of breakfast and lunch items, and fun coffee drinks. We ate avocado toast, a sausage biscuit, and an oatmeal cookie, and drank our double espresso and Hazy Jane latte on the sunny patio.

The house, patio, and yard offer plenty of seating, the only concern was finding a place to park. At 9 am the parking lot was full (the Smith is very popular with the neighbors), but we nabbed a spot when someone left.

A little internet sleuthing helped us find this eclectic spot amidst an otherwise drab sea of Caribou and Starbucks outlets. It is within 10-15 minutes of the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, our destination for the morning; we agreed we would happily visit the Smith again on a future visit to the Arb.
